STATEMENT OF INTENT

Outline plan of action

WHAT are you going to do?:
I am going to reconstruct portraits typically done by 20th centurary dutch painters in order to explore 
the model female gaze and how that is contrasted by a male figure.

HOW are you going to go about it?:

I will study the lighting used in Dutch paintings (such as Vermeer) and reconstruct some of them
in the studio. By using creative studio lighting i hope to replicate that of the natural light used by dutch painters. I will shoot on both digital and on film.

WHY do you want to do this?:
I want to do this to show my own personal exploration of the female gaze and that of women in contemporary photography
