Corinne Day retrospective
Day, a model-turned-photographer, learned how to use a camera from her lifetime partner Mark Szaszy. She championed a natural style of fashion photography, refusing to re-touch images and becoming identified with a 'heroin chic' style that mirrored early 1990s grunge. She helped launch Kate Moss' modelling career with a cover shoot for The Face magazine in July 1990; the two The two became friends and even shared a flat for three years. Day died in August 2010.
Exhibition: Diary
Photographer's Gallery, 05-10-2000Diary represents 10 years of my life of which I kept an intermittent photographic diary of friends, family, experiences and places I've been.
"Good friends make you face the truth about yourself and you do the same for them, as painful, or as pleasurable, as the truth may be."
